I source the finest timbers available, beautiful Ecuadorian and NewGuinean  balsa, Western red and Australian cedars to create limited numbers of masterpieces each year. Balsa boards have clear links to surfings heritage.
Balsa is a sustainable fast growth timber.   
Over the years Ive developed a number of unique construction from techniques to utilize the natural properties of the timber to its maximum. I bend and glue the timber under tension, which imparts a resonance like that of a guitar, cello or violin.
They feel alive to ride and have a unique feel of glide and momentum Hollow chambered to remove about 60% of the mass, the inner airspace creates buoyancy that tends to negate the inherent weight of the wood.
As a shaper and designer first and foremost, Im drawing on over 50 years of professional shaping experience to build individual, one off creations,  handcrafted cutting edge designs with timeless classic lines .

In tribute to classic guitars, I finish my balsa boards with inlayed Mother of Pearl  logos . These are my lasting works of art in the surfing world and will be around for generations, to become treasured family heirlooms.
